How do I add departments to the pre-chat form in Zendesk?

To add departments to the pre-chat form in Zendesk, you need to enable each department individually.

First, navigate to the Chat dashboard and go to Settings > Departments to add and edit your Chat departments. Click on the department name you wish to edit, and under Group status, select the checkbox to Enable in Chat. Don't forget to save your changes!

Next, head over to Settings > Widget > Forms. Here, you can preview your department selection by selecting Online: Pre-chat form next to Preview. Once enabled, these departments will appear as options for your visitors in the department field of the pre-chat form.
