To add a category to your Zendesk knowledge base, you need to be a Guide admin. Categories are the top-level organizing containers in your help center and must contain sections.
To add a category, navigate to your help center or Guide Admin, click 'Add' in the top menu bar, and select 'Category'. Enter a name and an optional description for your category. If you're on an Enterprise plan, you can also select a template from the sidebar. Ensure the correct source language is selected, then click 'Add'. Remember, if you have only one category, it will be hidden to end-users, and they will only see the sections within it. For more details, check out theoriginal Zendesk article.
