My AskAI tops the scoring at 68/80, with Alhena AI and Gorgias AI Agent tied on 59. Entry pricing across the set runs from a free Shopify tier to a $14,400-a-year Yuma bundle at roughly $1.20 per resolution.
  • My AskAI, the post-purchase resolution layer: runs inside the helpdesk you already have, with live order lookups and a per-ticket rate of about $0.12 on Pro that stays predictable as resolution climbs.
  • Alhena AI, for brands that aren't only on Shopify: six ecommerce platforms and eleven-plus helpdesks including Zendesk, Gorgias, Intercom and Freshdesk, though the catalog refreshes once a day.
  • Gorgias AI Agent, the AI bundled into the helpdesk you own: one platform and one bill, but an AI-resolved ticket carries both a ticket fee and an automation fee.
  • Tidio (Lyro), the cheapest viable entry point: a low starting price and Lyro product recommendations, with three separately metered pools to read carefully.
  • Rep AI, the storefront agent that also does post-purchase: the fullest in-chat selling loop in the set, priced on website sessions, so you pay for traffic.
  • Yuma AI, the post-purchase action engine: 75+ pre-built ecommerce actions and a multi-model quality check on every reply, sold only through a demo.
  • Macha AI, per-ticket credits with grading included: automatic conversation grading on every plan, capped, and no overage ever, which means agents pause when the meter runs out.
  • Wizybot, the Shopify-native storefront agent: fast to install with a free tier, and it publishes no security certifications at all.
You bought a chat widget to sell more, and now you need it to answer "where is my order?" three hundred times a week while the bill climbs every time it does. The eight alternatives below each cover at least one of Zipchat's two jobs, selling inside the storefront widget or answering the tickets that land after the sale, and their entry prices run from a free Shopify plan to a $14,400-a-year Yuma bundle that works out at about $1.20 a resolution. Which one is right turns almost entirely on which of those two jobs you are replacing, and the set splits fairly cleanly down that line.
Zipchat is built to sell. Its own docs put "Sell More" ahead of "Support Smarter", and its dashboard leads on revenue, orders and chat-to-sale conversion. That works right up until the job you need doing is returns.
So I have sorted the set by the job you are hiring for, and every score below comes off a page the vendor publishes.

Are there alternatives to Zipchat for AI chat on a Shopify store?

TL;DR: Yes. Zipchat is a storefront AI agent with no ticketing underneath it, so replacing it comes down to which job you need done: sell inside the chat widget, or resolve the tickets that arrive once the order is placed. Both jobs have several mature tools, and the Shopify App Store plus every major helpdesk marketplace carry them.
Zipchat installs as a chat widget on your storefront, through the Shopify app embed or a script tag. There is no ticketing system underneath it, so when a conversation needs a human it has to go somewhere else.
That somewhere else is narrow. Zipchat's integrations page names exactly one helpdesk: Zendesk. The email and ticket path carries no stated plan requirement; live chat needs Zendesk Suite Professional or above.
Training sources are the criterion I mark hardest of the eight, and the knowledge side here is narrow. The Knowledge Base docs list six ways to feed it, and all six are files or URLs: a single page, a multi-page crawl, a PDF, custom text, a CSV of links, and an XML sitemap. None of them is your wiki, your cloud drive, or the past tickets we usually train an agent on first.
Six topics cover roughly 70 to 80% of what a DTC brand gets asked: where is my order, returns, sizing, product questions, shipping costs and discount codes. WISMO alone is 30 to 50%, and a live order lookup is what answers it.
So the replacement question splits in two: another storefront agent if you want the widget to sell, or an AI layer inside your helpdesk if you want the tickets answered.
A spectrum from storefront selling to post-purchase support: Wizybot and Rep AI sit toward storefront selling, Alhena AI and Tidio (Lyro) sit mid-track, and Gorgias AI Agent, Macha AI, Yuma AI and My AskAI sit toward post-purchase support, with My AskAI furthest along and marked as the favored pick.

Our research on AI resolution rates puts the field median at about 70% across 195 rated deployments and 38 vendors. That is the bar either kind of tool should clear. Take it with a grain of salt: the figures are self-reported, aggregated across vendors, and counted differently by each of them.

What's the overall comparison of these 8 Zipchat alternatives?

TL;DR: My AskAI leads at 68 out of 80, nine points clear of the field. Gorgias AI Agent and Alhena AI tie for second on 59. Billing units vary sharply across the eight vendors (per-ticket, per-session, per-resolution), and which one a vendor uses matters more to your bill than the headline score once you pass a couple of thousand tickets a month.

My AskAI leads by nine points. The chasing pack is where it gets tight, with 59 for Alhena AI, 59 for Gorgias AI Agent and 58 for Tidio, and each of those three wins a different row. Alhena takes the integration row on ecommerce-platform breadth, Gorgias and Tidio take maturity because they are much bigger companies, and Wizybot takes setup because it installs in minutes off a free tier.
Cost hides billing units that are not comparable: per ticket, per website session, a ticket fee plus an automation fee, per conversation credit, per resolution, per AI message, and a platform plan plus a separately metered per-conversation add-on. Read the number and the unit together.

How did I select these Zipchat alternatives?

TL;DR: Every tool here either sells inside a Shopify storefront chat widget the way Zipchat does, or resolves the post-purchase tickets Zipchat sends onward. Each one has a documented ecommerce or helpdesk integration a merchant can install today.
I am one of the founders of My AskAI, which is on this list, so I obviously have a stake in it. Every score is worked out from published sources, so you can check the reasoning yourself.
Selection criteria:
  • Qualifies if a Shopify brand would realistically evaluate the tool instead of Zipchat, for one of the two jobs Zipchat straddles: converting shoppers in the widget, or working through the post-purchase backlog.
  • Needs a documented integration the merchant can install today: an ecommerce or helpdesk connector already live on the vendor's own site.
  • Needs enough published evidence to score: an integration list, a training-source list and a pricing page on the record, so all eight criteria come from evidence rather than a sales call.
  • Excludes ManyChat, which does marketing automation, a different category from either job Zipchat straddles.
  • Excludes general chatbot builders with no ecommerce connector, and helpdesks with no AI agent of their own, for the same reason.
  • Excludes Certainly and Maisie AI from a scored slot. Neither clears that third criterion.

How did I compare these ecommerce AI agents?

TL;DR: Eight criteria, applied identically to all eight tools, weighted toward the two things a DTC brand actually feels: what the AI can do inside Shopify and inside the helpdesk, and what a month of it costs.
The eight criteria are Shopify and helpdesk integration, ease of setup, training sources, features, improving over time, security, maturity and cost, each marked out of 10. Evidence comes from vendor documentation, published pricing pages, app-store listings, case studies and G2 reviews, and anything with no public source stays unscored. Answer quality gets a ninth heading, assessed inside each vendor's own section where the evidence sits.

Shopify & helpdesk integration

Zipchat is deep on Shopify and shallow on helpdesks, so I score both halves: does the tool read live Shopify order, product and customer data, and can it reply inside the desk your team already works in?

Ease of setup

Time to a first useful answer, and how much of that time needs a developer. A marketplace app that installs in ten minutes scores above an API integration that needs an engineer, and both score above a tool you can only buy through a sales call.

Training sources

Whether the AI can learn from more than a website crawl. Live order data is what decides DTC deals: a WISMO ticket answered from a help article when it needed a tracking lookup is a trust failure, so knowledge-base-only ingestion is a disqualifier for me here.

Features

What the AI can do once it is live: autonomous replies, product recommendations, refunds and returns, tagging, image reading, and whether actions run on their own or get proposed for a human to approve.

Answer quality

The hardest thing to score from the outside, and where vendor marketing is least reliable. Zipchat's homepage headline is 97%, on a product whose dashboard reports revenue, order volume and a chat-to-sale conversion rate.
A storefront agent's headline figure and a support tool's deflection rate count different things. Test both on your own ticket mix before you trust either, ours included.

Improving over time

Whether the tool tells you what it got wrong. I look for three things: a list of the questions it could not answer, a way to see which source produced a reply, and a route from wrong to fixed without opening a support ticket.

Security

The certifications the vendor actually holds, named: SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, GDPR, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, data residency, single sign-on. A published trust portal with the reports behind it scores higher here than a badge on a marketing page.

Maturity

How long the product has existed, how many stores run it, and whether the company behind it is funded. Bigger changes how much risk you carry.

Cost

The billing unit first, the number second. And whether the model survives a Black Friday peak at three to five times normal volume.
One operator, on bolting AI onto a helpdesk that was not built for it:

Is My AskAI a good Zipchat alternative?

TL;DR: An AI agent that answers from the helpdesk your team already runs, priced per ticket at about $0.12 on Pro, aimed at the tickets that arrive after checkout. It is the resolution layer behind the storefront, on Shopify.
We built My AskAI for the half of the job Zipchat routes onward: post-purchase tickets. It installs into your existing helpdesk as an approved marketplace app, answers customers in the same thread your agents use, and bills per ticket, resolved or not.
My AskAI landing page hero, positioning an AI customer service agent that works inside the helpdesk you already run, above a row of customer logos, with a 30-day free trial and no credit card required.

G2: 4.5/5 from 21 reviews.
"My AskAI handles about 95% of my tickets with better accuracy than human agents... Gorgias' own AI agent wouldn't work with my BigCommerce integration but My AskAI does." — Dan G, Small-Business, My AskAI on G2

How does My AskAI integrate with Shopify and my helpdesk?

We run natively inside six helpdesks: Zendesk, Intercom, Freshdesk, Freshchat, Gorgias and HubSpot. There is also our embeddable widget, Slack and Teams for internal use, and an API.
The Shopify connector is pre-built, so no custom tool is needed for product, order and customer lookups, and it supports Shopify Markets for multi-language, multi-currency and multi-store setups. We recommend installing through the helpdesk's own marketplace: the app has been through that marketplace's review and the helpdesk knows it is there.

How easy is it to set up My AskAI?

Setup takes about ten minutes and no developer for a standard configuration. Starting from knowledge alone (a help center, your website, the Shopify connector) you can be live within hours.
Most of our customers are answering customers directly within about a month, with the bulk of the work up front and half an hour a week of upkeep after that.

What knowledge sources can I train My AskAI on?

This is the widest connector set here: Google Drive, Notion, Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, SharePoint, Confluence, Salesforce knowledge pages, and Shopify pages, products and customer data. On top sit your Zendesk, Intercom or Freshdesk knowledge bases (behind-login articles included), website sync, and direct PDF and DOCX upload.
If none of that exists yet, training on historic tickets builds starter knowledge from your past tickets, with a default backfill of 5,000. Macros come across too, with our own guide on turning an export into knowledge first. Live backend reads run through the User Data API, so "where is my order?" is answered from the order record itself.

What features does My AskAI have?

User Data pulls live CRM, billing or order records into the reply. Tasks and Tools replace decision trees with natural-language procedures: the AI picks the right task, asks the questions it needs, calls the APIs and confirms with the customer. Actions run fully autonomously or as propose-then-approve, a per-action choice.
A Shopify sales-agent Task helps shoppers find products through clarifying questions, reading live inventory and every variant. Alongside it sit Self-Learning, Insights with AI CSAT scored across 100% of conversations, Image Reading, AI Tagging natively in Zendesk, Intercom, Freshdesk and Freshchat, and our AI Copilot Chrome Extension. The agent works in 95 languages.

How does My AskAI improve over time?

Echo is the front door: an AI agent inside our dashboard that your team talks to. Ask it what last week's top problems were, or why a particular answer came out the way it did, and it runs the analysis and names the source.
Behind Echo sit Self-Learning, which drafts new knowledge by comparing our reply to the human agent's actual reply, and Insights, which pings you when three similar conversations show up.

How secure is My AskAI?

We hold SOC 2 Type II and are GDPR compliant, with AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS in transit. Customer data is never used to train models, sold on, or used outside that customer's own ticket serving, and each customer runs in an isolated container.

How mature is My AskAI?

We are a two-founder company. More than 200 ecommerce and SaaS businesses run support on us, our agents have resolved over 1,000,000 tickets, and the rolling 30-day resolution rate across the customer base is 72%.

Who is using My AskAI?

We count a conversation as resolved when the AI handled it without escalating to a human. Deliberately basic, and we prefer it to a number implying we know the customer walked away happy when nobody asked them.
Swytch, which sells e-bike conversion kits and runs Zendesk, deflects 81% of tickets with our agent resolving over 4,050 a month.
"The difference was immediate. Customers now get instant answers to routine queries, and our team can dedicate more time to solving complex problems."Swytch, from their published case study
Edel Optics, a European eyewear retailer selling into 53 countries on Zendesk, resolves 79% at 92% CSAT and saves around 150 hours a month. Switching on the User Data API is what took them there, after a previous helpdesk AI underwhelmed.
A premium accessories brand on Gorgias runs 64% resolution at 85% CSAT across roughly 2,900 tickets a month, and Inspire Uplift, a marketplace on Zendesk, saves around 105 hours a month.

How much does My AskAI cost?

Charged per ticket whether or not we resolve it. Helpdesk chat bills every two AI replies as one credit, which works out at about $0.12 a ticket on Pro; email is about $0.18.
Pro is $199 a month with 1,000 credits at $0.12 overage and five team seats, Scale is $499 with 2,000 credits at $0.10 and no seat limit, and Enterprise starts at $999. A team at this volume sits on Pro and moves up when it outgrows five seats. Our core rate does not climb as the AI gets better, with add-ons such as tagging, tool-firing replies and task steps priced per use.
Before any of that, our trial is 30 days with every feature unlocked, unlimited tickets and no card.

Where My AskAI loses to Zipchat and the alternatives

  • Zipchat indexes source code from GitHub and GitLab. It clones public or private repos read-only into an isolated sandbox and answers technical questions from live code. We do not do that.
  • Alhena AI covers more ecommerce platforms. WooCommerce, Magento 2, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, BigCommerce and Solidus sit alongside Shopify on their side, which is why Alhena takes the integration row and we do not.
  • Rep AI and the storefront agents sell inside the widget. Behavioral drop-off detection, guided product discovery and applying a discount code mid-conversation are their core loop, built and shipped; ours are things you configure with Tasks and Tools. If chat-attributed revenue is the goal, pick one of them.
Choose My AskAI if:
  • You want post-purchase tickets answered without adopting a new helpdesk
  • Your knowledge is scattered across a wiki, a drive and a help center, or does not exist yet
  • Predictable cost matters and you do not want the bill to climb as the AI improves
  • You need live order lookups answering WISMO from the customer's actual order
Don't choose My AskAI if:
  • You want a shopping assistant whose main job is converting browsers in the widget
  • You sell on WooCommerce, Magento, BigCommerce or Salesforce Commerce Cloud
  • You want one vendor to be both the helpdesk and the AI

Is Alhena AI a good Zipchat alternative?

TL;DR: The widest ecommerce-platform coverage in this set, with genuine guided-discovery surfaces on top. Product data is only as fresh as yesterday's sync, and pre-built add-to-cart is Shopify-only.
Alhena is the answer for a brand that is not only on Shopify (which, on our onboarding calls, is most brands past their first platform migration). It runs standalone, so it does not need a helpdesk subscription to work, but it connects to most of them if you have one.
Alhena AI landing page hero, headlined “AI-Powered Shopping for Your E-Commerce Store,” with an email-capture field, a Book a demo button, and a customer logo strip including Huckberry, Tatcha, Paula's Choice and Unilever Prestige.
Alhena AI landing page hero, headlined “AI-Powered Shopping for Your E-Commerce Store,” with an email-capture field, a Book a demo button, and a customer logo strip including Huckberry, Tatcha, Paula's Choice and Unilever Prestige.
G2: 4.9/5 from 35 reviews.
"Alhena was the 1st AI that came very close to the tone and branding via Conversations we were looking for... Pre Purchase & Post Purchase + Service and Product reviews all handled by Alhena AI." — Ben O., Head of Customer Service, Alhena AI on G2

How does Alhena AI integrate with Shopify and my helpdesk?

Six ecommerce platforms: Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento 2, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, BigCommerce and Solidus, plus CSV, Excel and Google Sheets import. On the helpdesk side there are eleven-plus connectors, every one of ours plus Gladly, Kustomer, Salesforce Service Cloud and Zoho Desk, listed on their platforms page.
The breadth is uneven. Add-to-cart works natively on Shopify, and elsewhere the button does not appear on product cards until someone registers an event handler. Post-purchase tracking is third-party through Ship24, Narvar or Loop.

How easy is it to set up Alhena AI?

Alhena markets sub-48-hour deployment with no developer, Shopify specifically in ten to fifteen minutes, and most merchants finishing inside one business day.
There is a Playground for testing before you go live, and a Conversation Debugger showing which sources and guidelines produced a given response (our own Echo agent answers that question from the other direction).

What knowledge sources can I train Alhena AI on?

Website auto-crawl, YouTube, PDF crawling, Google Drive, Notion, Confluence, GitHub, uploaded documents, CSV and spreadsheets, Discord and Slack, custom API sources, and helpdesk tickets from Zendesk, Freshdesk, Freshchat and Salesforce, with personal data scrubbed before processing.
Live commerce data comes through the Shopify and WooCommerce APIs. The Shopify data-source docs say Alhena "fetches all products visible to the end user and updates this data daily", so a price or stock change inside that window gets answered wrong.

What features does Alhena AI have?

Product Quiz for guided discovery, an Outfit Builder their team has to switch on for you (so not self-serve), plus a Room Designer and Virtual Try-On on the same embeddable agents page. Agentic Checkout populates carts, pre-fills checkout and applies discounts.
Product Cards carry an Add-to-Bag button, and Adaptive Quizzing adjusts as the shopper answers. Promo control is guideline-level only: no code generation, and no validity check behind it.

How does Alhena AI improve over time?

The Conversation Debugger inspects which sources, guidelines and agents produced each response, every answer is annotated with the documents it used, and Flagged Conversations does real-time hallucination detection.
Admins can suppress a wrong answer and supply the right one, or fix the underlying source and retrain. Alhena's documented workflow is a weekly review filtered for "I don't know" responses and human escalations, roughly the habit we teach our own customers.

How secure is Alhena AI?

Alhena displays SOC 2 (Type 2 in the docs), GDPR, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001 and HIPAA across its site. Encryption runs in transit and at rest, the DPA is published, and transfers sit on the Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
What is not published: a SOC 2 report, a subprocessor list, a data-retention period, or a confirmed EU residency option. The platform appears to be US-hosted.

How mature is Alhena AI?

Founded 2022 by Ashu Dubey, ex-LinkedIn, and Nagendra Kumar, ex-Meta, operating as Helix3 Labs out of Pleasanton, California. Fun fact: it used to be called Gleen AI, so older reviews sit under that name.
Around 35 people, on a $4.9M seed led by Slow Ventures.

Who is using Alhena AI?

Tatcha, the Unilever Prestige beauty brand, reports 82% deflection, 81% CSAT, triple site-average conversion, a 38% AOV uplift and 11.4% of total site revenue.
"Our goal isn't just automated support; we need an AI that can sell, educate, and retain…" — Berto Alvaro, Director of Digital Product & Design, Tatcha
Victoria Beckham Beauty reports a 20% AOV increase and 10% revenue growth. Both figures come from Alhena's own case studies. So do ours, on our own site.

How much does Alhena AI cost?

Conversation credits, and the billing term changes the number. Free is $0 for 25 conversations a month, Essentials is $199 annual or $239 monthly for 200, Growth is $499 or $599 for 550, Scale is $999 or $1,199 for 1,200, and Enterprise is custom. Overage is a flat $1.20 per credit on the paid self-serve tiers, with Enterprise on a custom rate.
A credit is consumed when the AI resolves or assists an interaction, measured as a 30-minute chat window or an email thread. Spam, irrelevant queries and immediate human handoffs that do not involve AI resolution cost zero credits (a merchant-friendly meter, and rarer than it should be).
Choose Alhena AI if:
  • You sell on more than one ecommerce platform
  • You want guided discovery surfaces such as quizzes and outfit building
  • You want a standalone agent that does not need a helpdesk subscription
  • Spam and immediate human handoffs costing nothing suits your traffic mix
Don't choose Alhena AI if:
  • A price or stock change inside 24 hours would be answered wrong
  • You need pre-built add-to-cart on a platform other than Shopify
  • Your security review needs a SOC 2 report or a subprocessor list to read

Is Gorgias AI Agent a good Zipchat alternative?

TL;DR: If you already run Gorgias, its AI Agent is one bill and no new vendor. The catch: a ticket the AI resolves still gets charged twice, once as a ticket and once as an automation, and the AI Agent is Shopify-only even though the helpdesk is not.
For a store already on Gorgias, its AI Agent is the default do-nothing-new option. It is also the only entry here where the AI and the helpdesk arrive on the same invoice.
Gorgias landing page hero: “Conversations that drive revenue, not just resolutions,” describing its Helpdesk + AI Agent, with a phone mockup showing the AI agent recommending product options inside a shopping chat.
Gorgias landing page hero: “Conversations that drive revenue, not just resolutions,” describing its Helpdesk + AI Agent, with a phone mockup showing the AI agent recommending product options inside a shopping chat.
G2 rating: 4.6/5 from 538 reviews, on the main Gorgias page, since AI Agent has no separate listing.
"Automated responses, intent detection, and macros allow teams to handle high volumes of inquiries quickly without sacrificing personalization." — Joana Angela N., Customer Support Agent, Gorgias on G2

How does Gorgias AI Agent integrate with Shopify and my helpdesk?

Gorgias is the helpdesk, so there is no connector story (and no second bill, which is most of the appeal). The AI layer is narrower than the platform it sits in.
The AI Agent docs say AI Agent is not supported on BigCommerce, Magento or WooCommerce stores, and that a connected Shopify store is required. The helpdesk itself supports all of those platforms.
Multi-store is unlimited, with a dedicated AI Agent and Help Center per store. AI Agent runs on email, chat, SMS, Instagram and Facebook Messenger, though the docs still list only the first three (documentation lagging the release notes, which we all do).

How easy is it to set up Gorgias AI Agent?

The trial is 7 days, all features, no card, and access to a Customer Success Manager is scaled by your annual Shopify GMV.
Gorgias claims full Shopify context by day 7 and repetitive tickets automating by day 21, and runs an "Automate 50-in-50" program targeting 50% automation in 50 days with hands-on onboarding (their implementation team, in the room with yours).

What knowledge sources can I train Gorgias AI Agent on?

Help center articles, website content, uploaded documents, guidance, and Shopify data. Live Shopify customer and order data is a proper source in its own right, the strongest part of the offer. Uploads cover PDF, DOCX, PPTX and XLSX, though images inside those documents are not processed.
Skills are the main configuration unit: a set of instructions for one type of conversation, such as returns or cancellations (the same idea as our Tasks: a written procedure, no decision tree). There is no native ingestion from Notion, Google Drive or Confluence, and macros are not reused, since AI Agent generates its own responses from your skills and knowledge.

What features does Gorgias AI Agent have?

Shopping Assistant is the headline, and its discounts are real Shopify objects: it creates a unique, single-use code in your Shopify admin, valid for three days, with four discount strategies and three selling styles. It also renders a Shopify product card with add-to-cart in the chat.
Gaia is their AI coaching engine, positioned as "Diagnose. Draft. Ship." Autonomous Shopify Actions cover cancellations, refunds, returns, subscription edits through Recharge or Loop, address updates and WISMO, and recommendations work at product level only. That action list is the closest thing here to what we run inside Zendesk.

How does Gorgias AI Agent improve over time?

Admins rate responses and pick the knowledge sources the AI should have used, and the docs say that feedback influences how the AI selects knowledge for similar questions later. A Reasoning view shows which knowledge was used step by step, and Auto-QA evaluates AI conversations at scale.
There is also a pre-send gate: before sending, AI Agent runs a quality check and only sends if a second model clears its confidence threshold. Three limits are worth knowing: the threshold is set by Gorgias and you cannot adjust it, there is no suggest-then-approve draft mode (we make that a per-action choice), and automation reporting runs 72 hours behind.

How secure is Gorgias AI Agent?

SOC 2 Type II since 2020, GDPR and CPRA, HIPAA-compliant, hosted on Google Cloud with EU data residency. Single sign-on via SAML, audit logs and SCIM sit on the Enterprise card, with audit logs unavailable on Starter and Basic.
Zero-data-retention agreements are in place with the model providers: their security FAQ states the data AI Agent accesses does not train large language models from OpenAI or other third parties. ISO 27001 is not named on any published surface.

How mature is Gorgias AI Agent?

Founded 2015 in Paris by Romain Lapeyre and Alex Plugaru, now headquartered in San Francisco with roughly 450 to 520 staff, on around $104M raised across Seed to Series C-2 with Shopify itself on the cap table (which explains the Shopify-only AI Agent better than any doc does).
More than 17,000 stores run it, and Gorgias is Shopify's only Premier Partner for CX and a certified B Corporation, which makes it the most established company in the set by a distance.

Who is using Gorgias AI Agent?

Orthofeet automated 56% of tickets in two months, with first response times down to 35 seconds on email and 13 seconds on chat, working through the 50-in-50 program with Gorgias's own implementation team. I read that as a guided result.
TUSHY reports 13× ROI, a 15% lift in chat conversion rate, and twice the chat conversion for Shopping Assistant versus human agents.

How much does Gorgias AI Agent cost?

Helpdesk and AI arrive bundled: one platform, one inbox, one bill. Pro is $550 a month, or $471 annual, for 2,000 tickets and 190 automated interactions, with Starter at $40, Basic at $90 and Advanced at $1,430 either side of it, and Enterprise custom.
Pro bundles 2,000 tickets but only 190 automated interactions (under a tenth of the ticket allowance). Pro's ticket overage is $0.36, rising to $0.40 on the lower tiers, and AI overage is $1.50 per automated interaction. The billing docs are direct about the double charge: "You are charged both a ticket fee + automation fee if AI Agent responds to a ticket and does not hand over the conversation to a human agent."
The same page carves out older contracts, where a ticket counts toward one meter or the other but not both. Starter has no Actions and no brand-voice guardrails, so the entry plan cannot apply a discount or cancel an order.
Staying on Gorgias and adding a separate AI layer on top costs you the AI charge and nothing else.
One operator's view of native AI on a Shopify desk:
"It's probably fine for basic questions like order status, but we use Shopify so a customer can just click on their order email to see the order status. […] The AI agent does more harm than good in almost all tickets that involve complexity above like a fifth grade education level."u/hayyyhoe, r/ecommerce
Choose Gorgias AI Agent if:
  • You already run Gorgias and want one platform, one inbox and one bill
  • Your store is on Shopify and you want Shopify actions built in
  • You want real, single-use discount codes created in your Shopify admin
  • Hands-on onboarding toward 50% automation is worth paying for
Don't choose Gorgias AI Agent if:
  • You sell on BigCommerce, Magento or WooCommerce
  • You cannot absorb being billed twice for one resolved ticket, once per ticket and once per automation
  • You need a suggest-then-approve draft mode or an adjustable confidence threshold

Is Tidio (Lyro) a good Zipchat alternative?

TL;DR: The most widely deployed option here and the cheapest entry point, with Lyro as a metered add-on on top of the platform plan. The billing units are worth reading closely before you commit.
Tidio is its own helpdesk with Lyro as the AI agent inside it, and the volume incumbent in SMB ecommerce chat. It is also plain about its model: the docs say Tidio uses Claude and its own in-house models to power Lyro (few vendors here name the models behind their agent).
Tidio landing page hero, headlined “More automation, less ‘I hate your support’,” with Start for free and Contact sales buttons.

G2: 4.6/5 from 1,906 reviews.
"Lyro acts as a first line of defense for repetitive inquiries — the AI now handles 5 out of every 9 conversations automatically."Tidio on G2

How does Tidio (Lyro) integrate with Shopify and my helpdesk?

Ecommerce connectors cover Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress, Adobe Commerce, Shopware, Wix and Squarespace. Helpdesk and CRM connectors cover Zendesk, Intercom, Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Microsoft Dynamics, Zoho CRM and Agile CRM.
Those helpdesk connectors are mostly places Lyro sends conversations to. Lyro Connect sits on the pricing table as a line of its own, ticked on Tidio's top two plans and crossed everywhere below them.
Pre-built add-to-cart is Shopify and WooCommerce only, with other platforms reached through an OpenAPI catalog route or a Plus-only product-feed upload, and the OpenAPI route is unavailable during the initial free trial (so you cannot test that path before you pay).

How easy is it to set up Tidio (Lyro)?

The help center says ten minutes across four steps: add data sources, test in the Playground, set handoff and channels, then flip Lyro live. Every account gets 50 free Lyro conversations for life, and the 7-day trial needs no card.
The exception is Lyro Smart Actions, which the docs describe as meant for advanced users or developers. Budget engineering time if you need order-status actions, which for most of the DTC brands we onboard is day one.

What knowledge sources can I train Tidio (Lyro) on?

Website URLs, capped at 60 sub-pages from one top URL and 500 URLs overall, manual Q&A pairs, CSV import at 500 rows per file, and Zendesk Help Center imports. PDF and DOCX uploads are restricted to the Plus subscription (which catches out teams whose policies live in documents).
Live commerce data is strong: the catalog sync reads individual Shopify product pages through Shopify's API in real time, and Lyro is stock-aware, so it will not recommend unavailable items. Live order data runs through Smart Actions hitting APIs, with order-status templates gated to Plus and Premium, and the data-sources article carries the current limits.

What features does Tidio (Lyro) have?

Lyro Smart Actions cover order status, address changes, return initiation and CRM logging, with MCP support; your first Action is free and full access needs a paid Lyro quota. Lyro Product Recommendations surface live inventory as scrollable cards with add-to-cart, across eight documented types including comparison, variant and complementary.
Lyro Guidance handles tone, handoff and escalation rules and can be targeted by audience, and the agent works natively in 48 languages, with no round trip through English. There is no checkout link and no discount application inside Lyro (discount codes live in Flows, which is separately metered).

How does Tidio (Lyro) improve over time?

The Suggestions panel lists every question Lyro could not answer, with occurrence counts and detected intent, and lets you add a Q&A inline. A "Review sources" button shows which data source Lyro used and lets you edit or delete it in place, and a "Create answer" button appears wherever Lyro failed.
That is a good loop, closer to what we build than anything else in this half of the set. The documented gaps: no thumbs up or down on individual replies, no staged rollout, and no A/B testing of Guidance versions.

How secure is Tidio (Lyro)?

SOC 2 Type II audited by A-LIGN across Security, Availability and Confidentiality, with the report available on request through the Trust Center, plus GDPR, CCPA and CPRA, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, the EU AI Pact and NIST AI RMF.
All customer data sits on servers in EEA member countries, with no customer-selectable residency option, and single sign-on is gated to Plus and Premium. HIPAA is explicitly not certified, in Tidio's own words: "While we comply with the rules set in HIPAA, we don't have formal compliance documentation yet." ISO 27001 is not named on any published surface.

How mature is Tidio (Lyro)?

Tidio claims 300,000+ businesses, counting every Tidio product. The free plan carries only 50 lifetime Lyro conversations, so the paying AI base is a fraction of that headline.

Who is using Tidio (Lyro)?

Burker, an Amsterdam DTC watch and jewelry brand on Shopify running around 450,000 monthly sessions, reports 80% Lyro resolution across 10,000 conversations a month (a heavier chat load than the ticket counts most of our customers run).
Suitor, an Australian suiting brand, reports 85% of queries resolved and response times down from three minutes to six seconds.

How much does Tidio (Lyro) cost?

A platform plan plus a metered Lyro add-on, in three separately metered pools. Free is $0, Starter is $24.17 a month for 100 billable conversations plus 50 one-off Lyro conversations, Growth starts at $49.17, Plus starts at $300 plus usage, and Premium is contact-for-pricing from 3,000 Lyro conversations. The Lyro add-on starts at $32.50 from 50 conversations, and Flows at $24.17 (three meters, three ceilings to watch, and every figure here is the annual-billing rate).
The two billing units on Tidio's pricing page are not the same thing. A billable conversation includes a message from a human agent, and Flows and Lyro replies do not count as agent replies.
A Lyro conversation is any interaction with at least one AI reply, and it stays one conversation however many times Lyro answers, closing after 15 minutes of inactivity. The Lyro add-on's entry pack works out at $0.65 a conversation: $32.50 for 50, on annual billing.
Choose Tidio (Lyro) if:
  • You want the lowest-cost way in, plus a free tier to test on
  • You want stock-aware product recommendations with add-to-cart in the widget
  • A long AI exchange counting as one billed conversation suits the way your tickets run
  • You do not already have a helpdesk you want to keep
Don't choose Tidio (Lyro) if:
  • Your knowledge lives in documents, since PDF and DOCX uploads are Plus-only
  • You need Lyro Connect, which is gated to Tidio's top two plans
  • You need customer-selectable data residency or formal HIPAA documentation

Is Rep AI a good Zipchat alternative?

TL;DR: The closest thing here to a like-for-like Zipchat swap: a Shopify agent that detects drop-off and sells, with nine post-purchase support skills behind it. Billed against monthly website traffic, so the bill tracks your footfall rather than your ticket volume.
Rep AI is a storefront widget that hands off into a helpdesk, and it is the entry that most directly replaces what Zipchat does. One merchant on Reddit:
Rep AI landing page hero: “AI for ecommerce—one brain powering sales and support across every channel,” over a photo of someone using a laptop, with Start free trial and Book a demo buttons and a sample chat about finding a dress for a wedding.

"We use rep ai which functions more like a shopping assistant, handling faqs, upselling, and passes the trickier questions to us."u/skshining, r/ecommerce
G2: 4.9/5 from 62 reviews.
"I love that Rep AI answers basic questions, like those about the returns process, promotions, and discounts, which has lessened our customer reach out. I also love how Rep AI suggests products to add to the cart and how it uses the customer's language." — Beatriz O., Mission Control Analyst, Rep AI on G2

How does Rep AI integrate with Shopify and my helpdesk?

One-click Shopify install with automatic catalog and website sync, and Tapcart extends the same agent into a Shopify mobile app. Named helpdesk connectors are Gorgias, Zendesk, Kustomer, Richpanel, Freshdesk, Help Scout and Salesforce Service Cloud, with no Intercom (which rules it out for a good share of the brands we talk to).
Their discount-apply article grades discounts a full experience on Shopify, link-based on WooCommerce, and not possible at all on Salesforce Commerce Cloud. Headless or non-Shopify installs need a CDN script injected and eight behavioral events fired by hand, so the drop-off detection has to be fed manually off Shopify.

How easy is it to set up Rep AI?

Marketed as "Live in 6 clicks", with a 14-day trial on all plans and no card. Onboarding differs by plan (Full Onboarding on Sales and Concierge, Self Onboarding on Support).
One reviewer on the real timeline:
"It takes a good month to get everything up and running." — Tom F., Rep AI on G2

What knowledge sources can I train Rep AI on?

The Shopify catalog syncs automatically with names, descriptions, prices, variants, customer profiles and their last order, and the website is auto-indexed. On top sit merchant-managed files, URLs, custom FAQs, and help-center article import from Gorgias or Zendesk.
Live order data arrives at ask-time through the Order Status skill, pulling real-time status and estimated delivery dates. The knowledge base docs name the blind spot: it cannot gather information from image-based banners or other non-text elements. The catalog caps at 20,000 products, a real ceiling for a marketplace and no problem for most DTC brands we see.

What features does Rep AI have?

The Rescue Algorithm does behavioral drop-off detection, with a Laid-back to Pushy eagerness slider, on a model the vendor says is trained on 160M+ sessions. Product Finder adds guided and direct search with a configurable results threshold and semantic collection matching.
Real-Time Coupon Lookup applies a real discount code to a real cart, and the guardrails are published in detail. It will not invent, guess or generate a code, apply a code the shopper never mentioned, or claim a code was applied when it was not.
Behind that sit nine Support Skills covering cancel order, change address, order status, returns and exchanges, subscriptions, damaged orders and answering emails. That is the post-purchase half we compete on, and every one of those skills is live today.

How does Rep AI improve over time?

A Missing Information screen lists what the AI could not answer, a train-on-unhelpful-conversations surface sits alongside Explore AI Recommendations, and every reply carries a Sources dropdown naming the pages and documents used.
The Test & Train simulator always shows what your AI would say, even when AI answering is switched off (a small thing, and a rare one). There is no A/B harness and no bulk regression testing.

How secure is Rep AI?

The marketing and the trust center disagree here. The Vanta-hosted Trust Center publishes no SOC 2 report: its Resources page lists one gated engagement letter and its Controls page carries an open task reading "SOC 2 - System Description", so the audit is in progress.
Named on published surfaces: GDPR and CCPA, single sign-on on Enterprise, role-based access control, MFA, encryption at rest and in transit, and audit logs. ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, data residency and a subprocessor list are named nowhere, which is most of the list our own buyers work through.

How mature is Rep AI?

The install base is 500+ merchants on Rep AI's own numbers, with 550+ and 1,000+ appearing elsewhere on the site. One thing to watch: Rep AI's own site sits on the longer domain, and a different company entirely owns the shorter one, so certifications you find there do not belong to this product.

Who is using Rep AI?

OLLY, the health and wellness brand, reports 96% of conversations fully resolved, 95% answer accuracy, 99% CSAT and a 30% AOV lift.
Bikes Online reports 8.4% of total revenue assisted and a 48% AOV lift. The homepage carries a logo wall with no numbers attached to it.

How much does Rep AI cost?

The billing unit is monthly website sessions: seats are unlimited, traffic is metered (the opposite of our meter, which counts tickets), and their pricing page publishes three ladders.
AI Sales starts at $12 at the 3,000-session floor, AI Support is $250 at 80,000 sessions and AI Concierge is $726 at the same stop. Yearly billing takes 20% off, and three add-ons stack at $200 a month each, bundled in on Concierge.
The trade-off is the meter itself: a store with 200,000 sessions converting at 2% is paying for the roughly 196,000 visitors who never opened the chat. The session ladder publishes no session overage, so exceeding your sessions moves you up a tier, while the Shopify App Store carries a second ladder that does charge one, at $12 per additional 1,000 visitors.
Choose Rep AI if:
  • You want the fullest pre-built in-chat conversion path in this set
  • Applying a real discount code mid-conversation, with published guardrails, is the goal
  • You want drop-off detection you can tune from laid-back to pushy
  • Nine post-purchase support skills behind the selling loop cover enough of what lands after the sale
Don't choose Rep AI if:
  • Your traffic dwarfs your ticket count, since the meter is website sessions
  • You run Intercom, which has no connector
  • You need a SOC 2 report in hand for a security review

Is Yuma AI a good Zipchat alternative?

TL;DR: The deepest library of ecommerce actions here, covering refunds, return labels, subscription pauses and order edits, with several models cross-checking each reply before it sends. Pricing is published, but the only route to buying it is a demo booking.
Yuma sits at the opposite end of Zipchat's axis. Where Zipchat sells before the order, Yuma acts after it, which puts it closest to our own half of this list.
Yuma AI landing page hero: “Every stage of the customer journey, handled by the right AI agent,” claiming autonomous resolution of up to 89% of conversations across pre-purchase questions, support tickets and social DMs, with customer logos for Petlibro, Tumble, Clove, Jimmy Fairly, My Variations and Evry Jewels below.

G2: 4.8/5 from 12 reviews.
"Within just six months... nearly 40% full automation and the AI is responding to approximately 75% of our tickets... Occasionally, the AI may experience hallucinations or make incorrect statements." — Verified User, Luxury Goods & Jewelry, Yuma AI on G2

How does Yuma AI integrate with Shopify and my helpdesk?

Gorgias is the primary, native, one-click integration, alongside Zendesk, Kustomer, Gladly, Front, Re:amaze and Salesforce Service Cloud; Intercom, Freshdesk and HubSpot are absent. On the commerce side it is Shopify deep, with BigCommerce and WooCommerce in beta.
The integration claims are internally inconsistent, with the FAQ listing five platforms and the integrations page surfacing two (worth pinning down on the demo call, since a demo call is the only way in). Sales AI is a separate on-storefront product on its own subscription, sold through a contact form with no published price.

How easy is it to set up Yuma AI?

It is not self-serve, by design. Every route in is a demo booking, with no signup path anywhere on the site, so a buyer cannot assess capability before a sales call.
The counterweight is real: Yuma handles integration and onboarding itself with no implementation fee on any plan, Slack support starts on Starter, a dedicated account and technical manager arrives on Growth, and a Playground tests new automations safely before go-live. We push our own customers into the same habit.

What knowledge sources can I train Yuma AI on?

Help-center articles through a Source Manager that keeps citations fresh and ranked by relevance, a curated Q&A library, Fact Snippets, and historical tickets, which Yuma says the system learns from.
Live order data works for Support AI, including a Package Tracker pulling real-time carrier data for WISMO (the single biggest slice of DTC tickets). For Sales AI the corpus is merchant-maintained, and Yuma's own guide tells the merchant to keep variant data and inventory in sync with the page. There is no Notion, Confluence, Google Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint or Dropbox ingestion, so a wiki-heavy team has work to do before go-live.

What features does Yuma AI have?

Process Builder is a drag-and-drop workflow editor with 75+ pre-built actions covering refunds, subscription pauses, return-label generation and order edits. No other tool here documents an action library that size.
Safety Guard runs 15 to 20 quality-control checks per reply across multiple models and pauses suspicious outputs for a human automatically (fifteen checks against the single second-model check most of this set runs). Fact Snippets are immutable data points inserted verbatim to stop the AI improvising, and Media Brain handles images, video and PDFs for damage claims and receipt extraction. There is no add-to-cart, no checkout link and no discount-code application documented.

How does Yuma AI improve over time?

Yuma publishes the thinnest documentation of any tool here. Safety Guard cross-validates for accuracy, policy compliance, tone and safety and pauses suspect replies, and Deep Search offers ChatGPT-style querying of your ticket history.
Yuma documents no error-explanation or root-cause view. Reviewers on G2 have asked for more of the AI interaction data to live inside their helpdesk, alongside the tickets.

How secure is Yuma AI?

SOC 2 Type II is the only certification on record, the same one we hold and the one your reviewer asks for first. Yuma publishes little else on security, so read that short list as what is documented.

How mature is Yuma AI?

Founded by Guillaume Luccisano, a three-time Y Combinator founder with two prior exits, and a Y Combinator W23 company, headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts with a Barcelona office and around 27 employees.
Yuma says it has more than 100 paying customers and has automated over 5M tickets.

Who is using Yuma AI?

Glossier reports 91% accuracy on shipping tickets and an 87% drop in response times (shipping being the WISMO half we both chase). EvryJewels reports 89% automation and a 63% cost reduction across 150k+ tickets, and the case-study index carries both.

How much does Yuma AI cost?

Yuma's pricing page publishes three cards, though each plan card's call to action is "Book a demo" and there is no self-serve checkout. Starter is $14,400 a year at roughly $1.20 a resolution for 12,000 resolutions, Growth is $40,000 at roughly $0.83 for around 48,000, and Scale is $90,000 at roughly $0.75 for around 120,000, with the rate dropping toward a $0.55 floor beyond that.
Carry their own qualifier with any of those numbers: "Figures are illustrative annual prices, paid upfront. Your exact bundle is built around your forecast."
The billing unit is a Full Resolution: a ticket Yuma handled end to end with no human involved at any point. The moment an agent steps in, it drops out of your usage (so a ticket your team touches costs you nothing here).
Annual plans pause at the bundle with no overage; monthly plans bill extra resolutions at a flat $1.50 each. The first 30 days are on Yuma, run on live tickets with no implementation fee, and you pay your helpdesk subscription on top.
Choose Yuma AI if:
  • You need deep post-purchase actions: refunds, return labels, subscription pauses, order edits
  • You want more than one model checking each reply before it sends
  • Damage claims and receipt images are a real part of what your team handles
  • Onboarding handled by Yuma, with no implementation fee, is worth the gate
Don't choose Yuma AI if:
  • You want to buy without a sales call, since there is no self-serve signup
  • You run Intercom, Freshdesk or HubSpot
  • You want the AI selling in the widget, which is a separate product with unpublished pricing

Is Macha AI a good Zipchat alternative?

TL;DR: Plain-English agents with a scoped tool surface across Zendesk, Freshdesk, Gorgias and Front, billed per ticket-thread in credits, and conversation grading included on every plan, capped. There is no overage, which means agents pause until the meter resets.
Macha grades your agent's answers on every plan, subject to caps. Most vendors, us included, put evaluation tooling on a higher tier.
Macha AI landing page hero on its dark theme, headlined “AI agents that resolve tickets using your entire stack,” with Start free trial and Get a demo buttons, a three-step “Reads the ticket → Acts across your stack → Resolves & closes” flow, and integration icons including Shopify, Slack and Notion.

How does Macha AI integrate with Shopify and my helpdesk?

Four helpdesk connectors, for Zendesk, Freshdesk, Gorgias and Front, each with its own tool list. Zendesk gets 17 tools with webhooks created for you (webhooks being the alerts that tell Macha a new ticket has landed), and Freshdesk, Gorgias and Front get 15 each. Zendesk is the deepest of the four.
A HubSpot connector also exists, covering CRM and Service Hub through one-click OAuth across contacts, deals, tickets, notes and pipelines. It documents no customer-facing public-reply tool, so Macha can read, update and annotate a HubSpot ticket but not answer the customer there. Intercom is absent.
The Shopify connector covers products, orders, customers, discounts and refunds (refunds behind a confirmation step, which not everyone here does), and the connector catalog lists every tool per connector.

How easy is it to set up Macha AI?

Macha's docs put setup at minutes, about what we see on our own marketplace installs, and nothing is gated behind a card.
For teams that would rather not do it themselves, a paid White-Glove Launch at $799 one-time is a done-for-you build of up to four agents, integrations and custom tools on your real tickets.

What knowledge sources can I train Macha AI on?

File uploads cover PDF, CSV, XLSX, DOCX and TXT, 10 files at a time at 20MB each, with spreadsheets under 2,000 rows injected straight into the system prompt. Website crawl has a hard 200-page limit and no change monitoring (so an edited policy page does not reach the agent on its own).
The interesting part is the live connector sources: Google Docs, Notion and Confluence are read live from the source. Past tickets are included on every plan from Starter up, and Shopify and Stripe sit on the connector side of that line, because Macha separates what an agent knows from what an agent can do.
The data-sources docs put source caps at 3 on Starter, 10 on Professional and unlimited on Enterprise (three is tight if your knowledge is scattered).

What features does Macha AI have?

A ticket is one thread between Macha and one person, charged once however many messages it takes, with tool calls, knowledge search, order lookups, agent runs and the model's own reasoning all inside that single charge.
Agent Auto-Eval grades conversations automatically against the agent's own instructions, and it is included on every plan, subject to caps.
In autonomous mode there is no human in the loop by design: write actions execute immediately with no confirmation step. We make that a per-action choice instead, because on refunds most teams want the approval step.

How does Macha AI improve over time?

Grading costs nothing extra on any plan, subject to caps, and it is the whole improvement loop: instructions first, then model choice, then evaluation.
Every conversation is graded against the agent's own live instructions, so the thing you tune afterwards is the instruction set itself (which is how we run our own Guidance, for the same reason). Their evaluation docs cover the grading.

How secure is Macha AI?

Macha holds no certifications of its own. Their security policy says they are in the process of obtaining SOC 2, with no ISO 27001, no HIPAA and no BAA. One line on that page needs reading carefully: the SOC 2 and ISO 27001 claim belongs to Composio, their connector sub-processor.
GDPR and CCPA compliance are claimed and a DPA is published. Encryption is AES-256-GCM at rest with field-level encryption, and TLS 1.2+ in transit. Primary infrastructure is in Frankfurt (useful if your obligation is European), and personal data is scrubbed at the boundary so nothing sensitive reaches the AI models it calls.
Audit logs and GDPR data-residency options are included on all three tiers, and the Security and admin block carries no single sign-on line.

How mature is Macha AI?

AGZ Technologies Private Limited, based in Bangalore, founded around 2023, with two to ten employees on LinkedIn and no funding publicly announced.
It began as a Zendesk marketplace app. That listing's 100+ installs are the best third-party signal on the record here (we came up the same route). Realistically the customer base is low hundreds of accounts concentrated on one connector.

Who is using Macha AI?

Macha publishes no case-study pages. The homepage logo wall and testimonial blocks name Didriksons, Corkcicle, Babaa, Crumb, myMuesli, Orderchamp and Sushi Bikes, with no metrics attached to any of them.
"Support team is very helpful and responsive. Really enjoy how lightweight this is within Zendesk itself vs other more intrusive tools." — Cathleen Wright, Zendesk Admin, Cortex IO, on Macha's homepage

How much does Macha AI cost?

Billed per ticket-thread in credits. Starter is $299 a month monthly or $239 annual for 3,000 credits, Professional is $699 or $559 for 10,000, and Enterprise is custom.
The model you choose sets the credits per ticket at 1, 2 or 3 on the models Macha prices, with 3 the default, taking the effective rate from about $0.30 a ticket (Starter monthly, default model) down to roughly $0.06 (Professional annual, cheapest model). Read price, model and billing term together: the pricing page's $0.11 headline is Professional plus annual billing plus the 2-credit model.
There is no overage, ever: their pricing page says that if you use up your monthly credits your agents pause until they reset and you are never auto-charged extra. That turns a billing event into a production outage, since autonomous handling stops mid-month until you buy a top-up at $99, $449 or $799.
The trial is 500 credits worth $50 (no time limit, no card), team seats are unlimited, and the API is free.
Choose Macha AI if:
  • You want conversation grading included on every plan at no extra charge
  • One flat charge per ticket-thread, whatever happens inside it, suits how your tickets run
  • You want connectors that read Notion, Confluence and Google Docs live at query time
  • A hard spend ceiling with no surprise overage is worth the pause risk
Don't choose Macha AI if:
  • A mid-month pause would take your automation down
  • You need a security certification today, since Macha holds none of its own
  • You run Intercom, or you need the AI answering customers inside HubSpot

Is Wizybot a good Zipchat alternative?

TL;DR: A Shopify-native storefront agent that installs in minutes off a free tier, unifies WhatsApp, social comments and website chat in one inbox, and meters you per AI message. It holds not a single published security certification.
Wizybot is a native Shopify storefront AI agent with a real install base, and a DTC brand shopping for a Zipchat replacement will meet it in the app store. It is also the most WhatsApp-forward option here.
Wizybot landing page hero, headlined “The IA Chatbot that boosts your sales,” with Shopify, WooCommerce and VTEX platform logos and a “Conoce Wizybot” video thumbnail.
Wizybot landing page hero, headlined “The IA Chatbot that boosts your sales,” with Shopify, WooCommerce and VTEX platform logos and a “Conoce Wizybot” video thumbnail.

How does Wizybot integrate with Shopify and my helpdesk?

Native apps for Shopify, VTEX and WooCommerce, plus WordPress and Tienda Nube landing pages, and a HubSpot tile that is explicitly a CRM integration.
There are no helpdesk integrations at all: nothing connects Wizybot to Zendesk, Intercom, Gorgias, Freshdesk, Front, Kustomer, Help Scout or HubSpot Service Hub as a place to answer tickets, which is why it takes our lowest integration score.
Channels are WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Instagram DM, Facebook and Instagram comments, website chat and email, all in one centralized inbox. Social comments as a metered channel in their own right is a genuine differentiator.

How easy is it to set up Wizybot?

Wizybot installs faster than anything else here. It is a native Shopify app that installs without code and syncs the whole store automatically, with a published cold start measured in minutes (minutes, against the day or the month most of this list needs). The Shopify App Store listing carries a free plan on top of that.

What knowledge sources can I train Wizybot on?

The store itself, ingested automatically. In Wizybot's own words it connects with all your Shopify page information: orders, shipments, inventory, references and descriptions.
That is more live commerce data than the short training list suggests, and the FAQ repeats it for WooCommerce and VTEX (our Shopify connector pulls orders and customer records the same way). Merchants can add information, make corrections and view the AI's reasoning.
Beyond that, nothing is published: no supported file types, no help-center crawl, no past-ticket training, no per-source limits. Wizybot runs no documentation host, so read that as an absence of published evidence rather than a proven absence of capability.

What features does Wizybot have?

An AI chat agent answers in 90+ languages, which is a big claim from a product with no documentation host, so test it. The centralized inbox unifies WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram DMs, social comments, website chat and email, with unlimited numbers merged into one, departments and automatic agent assignment (no helpdesk needed, because it is trying to be one).
WhatsApp Marketing is the part nobody else here does: cart recovery, payment confirmation and order tracking as outbound campaigns, with the agent staying live behind them. Per their WhatsApp marketing page, the AI keeps assisting customers from the same number after an automation or campaign.

How does Wizybot improve over time?

Wizybot publishes one sentence on this: after the automatic ingest, it is a process of testing and adjusting the AI by making corrections within the platform.
There is no evaluation tooling, no regression testing, no feedback-labeling workflow, no confidence threshold and no analytics view of unresolved answers. I can see two operational levers that double as crude quality controls: AI activation schedules restrict the agent to lower-risk hours, and there is a documented handoff to a human.

How secure is Wizybot?

Security ends the evaluation here for any buyer with a review process. Wizybot publishes no certifications of any kind: no SOC 2, no ISO 27001, no HIPAA, no PCI reference, no trust portal, no security page, no penetration-test summary, no sub-processor list and no DPA.
The privacy policy on wizybot.com is unedited WordPress boilerplate: every section is prefixed "Suggested text:" and describes site comments and Gravatar. That is a long way from a product that reads a merchant's orders and customers (our buyers ask for a DPA before anything else).
The policy Shopify links to is a real document, but a generic mobile-analytics policy framed around app providers and SDKs, with a security section of transport encryption plus a disclaimer.

How mature is Wizybot?

A Colombian company concentrated across Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Chile and Brazil, alongside US and Canadian stores.
It holds 4.6 out of 5 on the Shopify App Store. Wizybot's own Shopify page claims 3,000+ brands and 40+ countries; a third-party press profile reports a higher number.

Who is using Wizybot?

The homepage logo wall names Alpina, Chamela, J Balvin, L'Occitane and Ralph Lauren under "Market-leading brands trust us". Deployment scope is not stated for the global brands, and may well be a regional store only.
The Shopify review record is the independently verifiable source here, and each store on it carries a country and a tenure: dermarket online in Colombia, Effekt Nutrition in Colombia and Shop Santé in Canada.

How much does Wizybot cost?

Metered per AI message, which is a materially different unit from everything else here (My AskAI's meter counts the whole ticket). Wizybot's pricing page publishes Basic at $69.99 a month with unlimited support agents, WhatsApp campaigns, human chats and tickets, and a quota of 1,250 AI messages and 2,500 AI comments. Overage is $0.07 per AI message and $0.05 per AI comment, and the second tier is Custom, sold through sales.
That listing on the Shopify App Store publishes three tiers that do not match the website: it adds a Free plan at 30 AI messages and names the third tier Personalized at $150 a month.
The metering definition works in the merchant's favor: "An AI message is a message where artificial intelligence responds to the customer. Initial messages, advisor messages, or outgoing messages are unlimited and are not considered AI."
Model it carefully: a five-turn AI exchange bills five times, and Wizybot's published pricing says nothing about WhatsApp Business API conversation fees, which Meta bills separately.
Choose Wizybot if:
  • You are WhatsApp-first and want outbound campaigns with the agent live behind them
  • You want social comments answered as a proper channel of their own
  • You want to test on a free Shopify plan before you spend anything
  • Your customers are in Latin America, where its install base is concentrated
Don't choose Wizybot if:
  • You have a security review, a vendor questionnaire or an EU data-protection obligation
  • You want the AI answering inside a helpdesk, since there are no helpdesk connectors
  • You need to see what the agent got wrong, since there is no evaluation tooling

What do these Zipchat alternatives actually cost at 3,000 tickets a month?

TL;DR: The same 3,000 tickets a month cost anywhere from $250 to $3,359, and the spread is almost entirely about the billing unit each vendor uses. Per-resolution and per-credit models climb hardest as volume rises; a per-ticket rate does not move.
Three thousand tickets a month sits toward the lower end of the 2,000 to 10,000 a $5M to $100M DTC brand runs, and the volume I get asked about most. It is also the number worth modeling, because Black Friday multiplies it by three to five.
Three stat cards on the same monthly-cost axis at 3,000 tickets: $250 as the cheapest at Rep AI, metered per website session; $439 in between at My AskAI Pro, $199 plus $0.12 a credit; and $3,359 as the priciest at Alhena AI, metered per conversation credit.

Two assumptions apply. Half of those 3,000 tickets are handled end to end by the AI, deliberately below the field median of around 70% (conservative on purpose, so the modeling flatters nobody, us included), and where a vendor meters replies a ticket counts as two AI replies.
Every figure is the AI charge only: you keep paying your helpdesk seats whichever tool you pick, ours included.

I Let AI Agents Resolve 10,000 Support Tickets, Here's How Much It Cost
Vendor
Pricing model
Monthly cost at 3,000 tickets
Notes
My AskAI
Per ticket, resolved or not
$439
Pro at $199 covers 1,000 credits, then $0.12 each, and a chat ticket is about one credit. Pro includes five team seats, so a larger support team moves to Scale. The core rate holds as resolution climbs.
Rep AI
Per monthly website session
$250
Modeled on AI Support at 80,000 sessions, on monthly billing; a yearly term takes 20% off. The only meter here driven by your traffic, so your number moves with your footfall.
Macha AI
Per ticket-thread in credits
$699
Professional, monthly billing, default 3-credit model: 9,000 of 10,000 credits. No overage, so agents pause when it runs out.
Wizybot
Per AI message
$402
All 3,000 tickets metered at two AI messages each: Basic covers 1,250, the other 4,750 at $0.07. Above Basic's quota Wizybot moves merchants to a custom plan.
Tidio (Lyro)
Platform plan plus metered Lyro conversation
$332 floor
Plus platform at $300 plus a Lyro add-on from $32.50. Above 1,000 Lyro conversations Tidio quotes custom and publishes no rate.
Yuma AI
Per full resolution
$1,200
Starter's 12,000 full resolutions a year at ~$1.20; 18,000 needs Growth at $40,000. Illustrative annual prices, paid upfront, per Yuma's own qualifier.
Gorgias AI Agent
Ticket fee plus automation fee
$2,136
AI charge only: 190 automated interactions included in Pro's $171/mo AI Agent fee, 1,310 over at $1.50. The ticket fee lands on the same resolved ticket.
Alhena AI
Per conversation credit
$3,359
Scale at $1,199 monthly covers 1,200 credits, then $1.20 flat. Spam and immediate handoffs cost nothing, so real usage runs lower.
Zipchat (reference)
Per outbound AI reply
$499
6,000 replies at ~$0.083 each on the plan that includes them. Overage is $0.196 a reply, and draft messages count as replies.
Treat Rep AI's $250 most carefully, because it measures something different from every other row: the cost of 80,000 website sessions. A store with heavier traffic and the same ticket count pays more, and a quieter one pays less.
Anything metered per outcome, whether that is Alhena's credits, Yuma's resolutions or Gorgias's automated interactions, gets more expensive as the AI gets better at its job. A per-ticket rate costs the same at 40% resolution and at 80%. Our trial runs on live tickets so you can price that difference yourself.
A breakdown diagram of four billing mechanics: per ticket at the plan's rate, marked as the favored model (My AskAI charges $0.12 a credit on Pro, and a chat ticket is about one credit); metered by traffic (Rep AI); metered by outcome (Alhena AI and Yuma AI); and ticket plus automation stacked (Gorgias AI Agent).

Which Zipchat alternative is best?

TL;DR: My AskAI takes the scoreboard at 68 out of 80 on the strength of training sources, improvement tooling and cost, but the right answer depends on whether you are covering Zipchat's selling job or its support job. If you want the widget to sell, a storefront agent beats us on that axis and should get your money.
My AskAI takes the board at 68, and every tool below it still wins a reader it serves better than we do. Route by what you are actually trying to fix.
  • You want the chat widget to sell. Go to a storefront agent. Rep AI has the fullest pre-built loop, with drop-off detection and real discount codes applied in chat, Alhena adds quizzes and agentic checkout, and Wizybot is the pick if your customers live in WhatsApp. We do not claim to out-convert any of them.
  • The tickets after the sale are your problem, and you run a mainstream helpdesk. My AskAI, working inside Zendesk, Intercom, Freshdesk, Freshchat, Gorgias or HubSpot, is where our column earns its 68: the widest set of knowledge connectors here, live order lookups through the User Data API, and a per-ticket rate that holds steady as the AI improves. Start on the free trial and point it at your WISMO tickets.
  • You are already on Gorgias and want one bill. Gorgias AI Agent is the least disruptive option in the set, as long as you go in knowing that one resolved ticket triggers two separate charges, a ticket fee plus an automation fee, and that the AI Agent needs a Shopify store even though the helpdesk does not.
  • You are not only on Shopify. Alhena AI, without much of a contest: it connects to six ecommerce platforms and more than eleven helpdesks, Zendesk, Freshdesk, Intercom and Gorgias among them, the widest coverage here, and takes the integration row outright.
  • You need deep post-purchase actions. Yuma AI, on the biggest action library in the set (refunds, return labels, subscription pauses, order edits) with Safety Guard checking every reply before it goes out.
  • You want to spend as little as possible to get started. Tidio, on a free tier with 50 lifetime Lyro conversations to test with, or Wizybot's free Shopify plan if WhatsApp is where your customers already are.

FAQs

Who are Zipchat competitors?
My AskAI, Alhena AI, Gorgias AI Agent, Tidio's Lyro, Rep AI, Yuma AI, Macha AI and Wizybot. Certainly, Maisie AI and ManyChat also come up in searches alongside Zipchat.
They split into two groups: storefront agents that sell in the widget the way Zipchat does, and AI layers that work through post-purchase tickets inside your helpdesk.
Is there a cheaper Zipchat alternative that does not meter every AI reply?
Yes. Tidio's free tier and Wizybot's free Shopify plan both start at nothing, and Macha AI bills one flat charge per ticket-thread however many messages it takes.
My AskAI charges per ticket whether or not the AI resolves it, so a long back-and-forth bills once. The worked math at 3,000 tickets a month sits in the costs section above.
How do Zipchat AI and Tidio compare for managing live chat during flash sales?
The billing units decide it. Zipchat meters outbound AI replies and roughly doubles the rate on overage, which is exactly wrong for a spike that multiplies your volume by three to five. Tidio meters Lyro conversations, so a long back-and-forth counts once (which is why it is the one I point flash-sale brands at).
The catch on Tidio's side is that its auto-upgrade trigger fires with an in-app banner rather than an email and does not auto-downgrade afterwards, so check your plan after the peak.
How does Zipchat AI compare to Rep AI for handling high-volume customer inquiries?
Different meters entirely: Zipchat charges per outbound AI reply, Rep AI per monthly website session. At high volume Rep AI's bill tracks your traffic whatever your ticket count, which helps if you take a lot of tickets on modest traffic and hurts if it is the other way round.
On capability, Rep AI's nine Support Skills and its Order Status skill with live carrier lookup cover the post-purchase half that Zipchat routes to Zendesk.
How does Zipchat AI stack up against Certainly for multilingual customer service?
Zipchat documents 90+ languages with auto-detection per message. I would not pick either tool on a published language count, because those counts are among the least consistent numbers any vendor publishes and they say nothing about answer quality in the languages you need.
Test both on your own tickets in your top three languages and score the answers.
Is Zipchat AI or Maisie AI better for reducing cart abandonment through proactive chat?
Zipchat's documented side of this is Proactive Chat, which fires context-aware messages based on live browsing behavior, with Campaigns and WhatsApp Marketing handling outbound.
If cart abandonment is the problem you need solved, you are shopping for a storefront agent: Rep AI, Alhena AI or Wizybot.
Is there anything better than ManyChat?
ManyChat does marketing automation, so it is not on our scored list. For outbound campaigns on social and WhatsApp, Wizybot does that with an AI agent behind it; for tickets answered, any of the resolution-layer tools above is a closer fit.
What is the best live chat platform?
The platform question is downstream of the job question. Whichever tool you shortlist, hold the demo to the field median AI handling rate of about 70%.
Pick the job first, shortlist two tools, and test both on last month's tickets.
