I used to be afraid of our product being directly compared with our competitors. But we've been able to turn this into a powerful new sales hack.

Potential customers would have a set of 'practice' questions they would use to test our AI support agents. It would send a shiver down my spine.

I'd always be worried that a competitor might have figured out a new pattern to be 10% better.

Or that a big competitor, like Intercom's Fin AI or Zendesk's AI, would just be so much better because of the 100s of engineers they have in the company dedicated to just this feature.

But over time, as a company, we've grown much more confident.

So much so, that today we actively encourage potential customers — especially Enterprise — to give us a set of 50+ typical customer support questions. Some basic, some complex, some in German, some half-baked, etc.

We give them the templates and advice to pull this together, and explain how they can compare us to others. We make it easy to compare us, not hard.

And we've found this to be a killer tactic in closing deals.

We're yet to lose an answer quality assessment against a competitor. And we're normally the cheapest as well 😇

This tactic tells the customer we're confident. It gives them long term confidence that quality will be high with us. It shows the customer we're transparent and have nothing to hide.

If you're confident in your product, let your potential customers see how and why you're better.
