There were people in 1999 who said, "the internet is great, but it's too slow for high-quality video. It'll never disrupt the cinema industry let alone the TV industry."
These people's biggest mistake was assuming the tech available 'today' is very similar to the tech available next year, and the years after that.
There are people today saying "AI is great, but it can't handle complex tasks in areas like customer support. It's not reliable enough. And people will always want to speak with people."
