# Knowledge change test
Use a synthetic source and harmless test questions.

1. Create a public source with version A and an identifiable example policy.
2. Index it. Ask a question whose answer depends on that policy. Record source and chunk IDs.
3. Change the policy to version B. Sync it. Check that the answer uses B and not A.
4. Change visibility to restricted without changing the text. Test an anonymous reader and an authorised reader.
5. Delete the source. Check search, cached context and any derived copies under the data policy.
6. Interrupt a paginated sync. Confirm failure is not treated as an empty source or a completed deletion.
7. Restore the source only through a deliberate versioned operation.

Record expected state, actual state, sync delay, index cost and evidence for every step.
